Shamrocks Family Sadly Acknowelges The Passing of Dave Ward

The Victoria Jr Shamrocks sadly acknowledge the passing of former Director and President for over 5 years, and longtime friend and supporter of the club Dave Ward, pictured above with his son Ryan, who played for the Jr A and Sr A Shamrocks, in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.
In addition to his work with the Junior A Shamrocks, Dave also served as Director and Treasurer of the Senior Shamrocks, and was a dedicated and willing volunteer anytime the clubs needed his help, including a major role in putting on the 2019 Mann Cup in Victoria.
Outside of lacrosse, Dave was well known in the community for his distinguished service as a firefighter, and as a builder and supported of youth sports and community, splitting his time as a career firefighter and later as Chief of Saanich and Esquimalt Fire Departments, and giving back to the community both as a leader and as an avid builder.
We will miss seeing Dave at the arena, and our thoughts are with his family and friends as we reflect on his lifetime of service and dedication through his career and hobbies to the community.
