Shamrocks Drop A Close Game 3

Starting goaltenders were Grayson Manning for the Rocks and Jack Kask for the Adanacs. It was the home team scoring first on a power play, Ryan Colsey connecting from outside the dotted line at 10:31. Cody Malawsky followed up at 14:04 getting in close to make it 2-0 for the Adanacs. Ryan Lowe got the visitors within a goal just 21 seconds later from the dotted line but Colsey’s second power play marker at 19:25 restored the 2-goal lead as Coquitlam took a 3-1 lead to the dressing room after 20 minutes. Shots on goal favored the home team 18-11.

Victoria opened the second period scoring, Ronin London finding twine at 1:41 following a successful penalty kill. The teams traded goals, Nathan Chalmers tallying for Coquitlam at 4:01 from the edge of the crease and Koen Block replying for the Shamrocks at 10:07. Once again penalties hurt Victoria as Coquitlam scored a pair of power play goals, Colsey picking up his third at 13:01 and Jaxon Dillon adding another at 14:29 to make the score 6-3. The Rocks did not quit, however, and Lowe collected his second of the contest shorthanded at 16:41 and Dylan Anderson drew the visitors within a goal with a bullet from outside the dotted line at 18:51. The score after 2 periods was 6-5 for Coquitlam.

There was no scoring in the final frame until past the midway mark. Chalmers picked up his second of the game at 12:33 finding the top corner and Colsey added his fourth of the contest at 13:46 to make the score 8-5 for the home team, both those goals coming with the teams playing 4-on-4. Victoria managed to get a couple of late power play goals, Lowe picking up his hat trick goal with a hard overhand shot from outside the dotted line at 15:18 and Jett Klassen tallying at 17:13, finishing off some great passing in close.

Ryan Lowe led Victoria with the hat trick and 1 helper while Dylan Anderson, Jett Klassen and Koen Block each contributed a goal and 2 assists. Carter Quested chipped in 3 assists. Ryan Colsey scored 4 times for the Adanacs and added 2 helpers. Jaxon Dillon and Cody Malawsky chipped in a goal and 3 assists with Nathan Chalmers adding a goal and 2 helpers.

All 3 games have been very close and the series returns to the Q Center for game 4 Tuesday, August 5th at 5:30 pm.
